Attention Wing Nation! Do you consider yourself a HOT WING POWER EATER? Have you ever wanted to test your competitive eating prowess? Do you wake up and pour hot sauce on your cheerios? Well now is the time for you to shine… The Wing Shack is proud to present The 2019 Wing Bowl (formerly known as The Bear Hot Finals) on Thursday, July 4th at the Greeley Stampede! In addition to the stunning Wing Bowl trophy, we are throwing down $500 CASH for first place! Plus, we have concert tickets, free food, merch, and other sweet prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. Plus, everyone brave enough to enter will take home a prize. So are you ready to compete for Wing Shack immortality at the Region’s BIGGEST Wing Eating Contest?! Get all the details below ⇓

The Important Stuff:

The 2019 Wing Bowl will be going down on Thursday, July 4th on the Park Stage (the free stage in the food court) at the Greeley Stampede. You can register in person at our Food Truck on the Stampede fairgrounds OR you can register online here. The contest will be capped at 15 people and is FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE! Once we hit 15 registrants, we will add anyone interested in participating to our waiting list. (In case we have some no shows – some people have no shame) Which brings us to the next important point: PLEASE ARRIVE AT LEAST 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE EVENT. We have to check everyone in and we plan on starting promptly at 5:00 pm – if you are late, you might have to give up your spot. Finally, if you have any questions bout the event, hit us up here. This year, we are pleased to have our contest hosted by local comedian and all around great guy Kyle Pogue. Kyle Pogue is a stand up comedian from Fort Collins. He loves comedy, buffalo wings and beer. He can do without one, as long as he has the other two. Check out his video below:

The Official Rules:

Here is a quick reminder of the OFFICIAL rules for the 2019 Wing Shack Wing Bowl. Our contest is a combination of speed AND spice. Not only do you have to be the fastest wing eater, you must be able to handle some KICKED UP wings. The official rules are as follows:

• 5 minutes are placed on the clock
• Each contestant is given a 3 pound basket of wings, tossed in a special Bear Hot sauce.
• Contestants must eat 90% of the meat off the bone (based off the official Wing Shack judge’s discretion)
• As soon as the clock hits 00:00 all contestants must put their hands in the air.
• The official Wing Shack judges will then weigh out the remaining wings in each basket.
• The contestant that eats the most wings in the allotted 5 minutes wins a $500 cash prize and will forever be immortalized in the history books of the Wing Shack.

So put on your cowboy boots, get your taste buds ready and come down to the Greeley Stampede on Thursday, July 4th for the region’s only Wing Eating Competition! In the meantime, we encourage you to order yourself some Bear Hot wings in solidarity with our competitors.
